I arrived at this deserted parking area not far from Page, Arizona while it was still pitch black just before day break. Armed with only a small torch and having no safety fences anywhere it was extremely difficult to navigate to the edge of this gorge without almost falling down the sheer face of the cliffs which are several hundred of feet deep.
When the first light finally arrived I could start to make out the shape and scale of this place. The isolation and serenity was absolutely magical as I was the only one there at this time of morning. I couldn't fit the whole scene in my wide angle lens so I employed another technique that I often use in situations like this and took my time to capture this shot a...
