Description
A flurry of action at the local Poppy garden at the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers as the Busy Bees come and go from a yellow Poppy flower.
-- Artist Notes --
Without pollination from bees, the human race and all of earth's terrestrial ecosystems would not survive. Pollination results in larger, more flavorful fruits and higher crop yields to more than 80% of the 1,400 crop based plants grown around the world.
Thanks to Monsanto's (now Bayer) unscrupulous, anti-life lobbying practices that pushed the heavy use of toxic pesticides, such as Roundup and other synthetic 'forever chemicals' (chemicals that don't break down for hundreds of years), for decades to unsuspecting farmers, bee populations around the world are currently under threat of total extinction, which will result in total food crop failures for us.
Bees, like most creatures in nature, only attack humans when threatened. Treat them with respect and they will leave you alone. If you have the space I highly encourage you to start your own flower garden and honey making process... Your neighbors (and bees) will love you :)
